The action is heating up in the Sport class. We saw everything this past weekend that a race fan could desire.
- Dillon is still your #1 in the class. He has shown he can come from the back to take wins and podiums. Even with the post race penality is it clear to see he is the #1 guy. With the most wins in the class, he is also the clear title favorite going into the tail end of the season with a 55 point lead. Will we see him try a PRO LITE race at the final round with the Sport championship secured? (still lots of racing left)
- Cam Cole has been red hot as of late. his DNF mechanical on Saturday did not deter him from our rankings. The kid has legit speed and combining a podium this weekend with win last weekend he is our #2 guy.
- Drew Freeland kind of got the short end of the stick here with a DNF (the post race penalty that was applied to Dillon) and a win. It was hard for me to slot Emil and Drew as they were carbon copy weekends with 1 good and 1 bad race. Drew got the nod for #2 as he is 2nd in points and also what was deemed by ISOC, unfair to him.
- Emil Mikalsen has been great with crazy good starts, speed and podiums (win) which will slot him in #4 currently. If he would not have fumbled his marbles on Saturday I think we would see him as #3.
- Ingebright of Belair Racing has hit the afterburners on the second half of the season. With a solid 5-3 on the weekend he slots right in behind the front runners of the class.
- Tanner Johnson had a break out weekend with a 9-2. He rode smart and safe all weekend and was able to capitalize on a crazy Saturday Final. Tanner is young and will be a force once he gets more gate drops under his belt in the competitive sport class.
- Tyler had a roller coaster weekend which will drop him to 7th from his points position of 3rd. A great weekend at Michigan, like his previous races this season, will rebound him back to the top 3 in rankings I'm sure.
- Zak Farmer found himself on the box 2 weekends ago and had a solid weekend here at ERX. He slots 8th as the first guy of the list without a podium at ERX.
- Nathan Mailloux made the journey to ERX from Canada and put in 2 solid days (8-8). Kept his nose clean and put himself in good situations for a solid finish. Nathan is not a series regular but jumped right in. Will he finish the series out?
- Brian Petersen had a solid weekend going 9-10 for 9th on the list... makes sense? The full time office worker hangs it out in the sport class. Impressive for never able to practice ever during the season. No DNF race kept him above Kolton from making the list this week.
*Kolton and Chance get honorable mentions, I had a hard time picking that #10 spot. Brian with no training, practice and fresh off a broken collarbone, took it with 2 top 10s*
